A person was arrested after the fatal brawl between around ten young people in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, this Tuesday, December 17, near the Rodin high school, BFMTV learned from a police source. According to our information, a 16 year old boy died during the altercation.
The person arrested is a minor, born in 2008. According to the prosecution at BFMTV, it is too early to know if he is directly linked to the death of the teenager.
The events occurred in the morning near the high school. The Paris public prosecutor’s office indicates that it was informed of the facts at 8:30 a.m. A 16-year-old minor was first found in cardiac arrest in front of the high school. He had head injuries and a knife was found near him.
An open investigation
Despite Samu’s resuscitation attempts, the teenager was declared dead at 9:15 a.m., as a result of his stab wound. Born in October 2008, he lived in Ivry-sur-Seine and went to school in Val-de-Marne, BFMTV learned from the prosecution.
The investigation, first opened for “murder” and entrusted to Paris territorial security, was reclassified as “premeditated murder”, according to the prosecution.
Contacted by BFMTV, the school refused any comment. The other people involved in the brawl fled, a police source told BFMTV.
District mayor Jérôme Coumet (various left) expressed his “stunnedness” on BFMTV after the announcement of the teenager’s death. He said he was “sad and angry” to “see a teenager disappear in these conditions”.
