The storm Dorothea has given way to the haze in the archipelago. The Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Emergencies, has declared a pre-alert situation due to haze on all the islands.
The suspended dust is already affecting Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. In the next few hours it will move from east to west.
According to the autonomous government statement, this episode could reduce visibility to less than three kilometers and “generate health problems for people with chronic and respiratory diseases.”
The haze will have a greater presence in the south of the islands.
According to the forecast of the State Meteorological AgencyAEMET, will remain in the Canary Islands until Friday, December 20.
On the other hand, the Government of the Canary Islands maintains the wind pre-alert situation. The gusts will be stronger in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura where they can reach up to 80 km/h.
