In 2010, Bill Nighy joined the franchise in the role of Rufus Scrimgeour, minister of magic and man of action turned politician, in the first part of the Deathly Hallows, to see again this evening on TMC. He plays him like an old wounded lion (mane and roars required) and marks the film with his impressive intro monologue, rediscovering the power of great orators (Churchill in the lead). From the start, he shows flaws that will give depth to a character who could have been monolithic. Very classy.
Harry Potter 7 is a success [critique]
During the promotion of Little English MurdersBill Nighy returned to his role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, although short, but important in the plot. Known for his classy English roles (Love Actually , Good Morning England…) and for his role as villains in Hollywood blockbusters (Viktor the vampire in the Underworld trilogy or the slimy Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean), he arrived late in the Harry Potter franchise, but he encountered his young heroes there .
