This blacksmith, originally from , was a committed actor in the yellow vest movement. He was recognized both in his department and nationally.

Wednesday December 11, Christophe Chalençon, emblematic figure of the yellow vest movement, died at the age of 58 from cancer, according to information from Blue Vaucluse . The blacksmith from Sault, in Vaucluse, had actively participated in the mobilizations both at the departmental and national level. In 2018, he was among the members invited to Matignon to discuss with the executive power. A year later, he even decided to submit a list for the European elections, named “Citizen evolution”, which had only gathered a few votes.

Christophe Chalençon is becoming more and more radical by making polemical remarks. In 2023, he was sentenced to eight months in prison for threats by the court. The former figure of the yellow vests had launched insults against the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron and Olivier Véran, the former Minister of Health as well as a journalist from Provence.
