My Skyliner Car Has Never Done THIS in Disney World Before

If you’ve read any of my posts, you’ll likely know that the Disney Skyliner holds a VERY special place in my heart.

I love the Skyliner!

I personally am not afraid of heights, and am actually the opposite — most of the time, I love them! I love the views I get to see from the Skyliner, and if I’ve got a car to myself, words can’t describe how relaxing it is. However, on my last trip, something VERY interesting happened in my car that I’d never had happen before!

Typically, as you ride along your route on the Skyliner, you’ll hear an automated voice tell you about where you’re passing over. And since there are multiple Skyliner stations and routes, sometimes it can be a little confusing wondering how to go about getting to where you need to go.

Skyliner

Thanks to the automated announcement, you’ll be able to hear instructions on where to get off, or to stay on if you’re traveling to a certain area. For example, if you’re traveling through the station at Disney’s Riviera Resort, the automated voice will tell you to stay on board if you’re heading to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century, of Animation, or EPCOT, because you have to transfer at the Caribbean Beach to get to any of the other locations.

Skyliner Station

It’s a great way to make sure you always know where you’re going, however on my trip, I was taking in the sights as I headed from EPCOT to Hollywood Studios, I realized I hadn’t heard ANYTHING. As I approached the Riviera Station, I was confused on if it was the station I needed to get off at, or if I needed to wait one more. I was able to ask a Cast Member stationed outside the cars, who reminded me to stay on since I was heading to Hollywood Studios.

The Skyliner

Funny enough, even as I switched cars at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, the sounds in THAT car didn’t work either! I had originally thought it was an issue with one car in particular, but as it turns out, I’m assuming the whole system was having an issue that day.

So if you’re riding the Skyliner and realize you aren’t hearing anything, you can always look up the Skyliner map online, or ask a Cast Member at the next station you arrive at!
