Eventful year
2024 was an eventful year for Kim Huybrechts, to say the least. In the spring, “The Hurricane” found himself in the eye of the storm after a video of him attacking fellow darts player Mike De Decker was leaked. Huybrechts apologized afterwards, but was fined by the DRA, the disciplinary body in darts.
A few months later, Huybrechts came to the attention again with a striking story: our compatriot broke his collarbone in a brawl after the football cup final. Antwerp supporter Huybrechts said he was then attacked by young people.
In the meantime, things turned out well for Huybrechts, who fell out of the top 40 in the world. In October he saved his season with an unexpected final place on the EuroTour in Prague. He lost it to Luke Humphries, but regained his confidence.
