A trip that goes wrong for Karin Viard. While she was the guest of honor at the Festival des Arcs, the actress had to be rushed to hospital after a fall on the ski slopes.
The 16th edition of the Arcs Film Festival, which promotes European cinema each year, opened this Saturday, December 14 in the resort of Les Arcs, in Savoie. Among the guests of honor, Karin Viard, well-known actress from the big screen, was present alongside many other artists such as Noomi Rapace, Camille Chamoux and Pio Marmaï. On this occasion, she was to be celebrated for her contribution to the seventh art, in particular with the screening of the film One nighta romantic melodrama that she co-wrote and starred in alongside actor Alex Lutz.

However, what was supposed to be a moment of celebration took an unexpected turn. While she was enjoying the snowy slopes before the official opening of the festival, the actress was the victim of a serious skiing accident. An announcement which quickly aroused great concern, overshadowing the cultural event in which she was participating.
A fall that rocks the actress's stay
While she was hurtling down the ski slopes, the 58-year-old actress suffered a fall of rare intensity. Quickly taken care of by emergency services, she was transported on a stretcher. In a video posted on her Instagram account, we see her lying down, surrounded by rescue teams. Despite the seriousness of the situation, she tries to keep her humor, writing in the caption “And presto, a head trauma after 1 minute of skiing! It's called talent!“. In this extract, the actress, visibly worried, confides “It’s very creepy actually.“, while responding to a voice that asks him “Are you okay, honey, or not?“.

Several of his friends in the artistic community expressed their support, like Zabou Breitman “JI'm not going to like it because it breaks my heart.” The actress Bérengère Krief also expressed his dismay with an affectionate “Maiiiis nooon Karin!!!“. When one accident evokes another…
Faced with this announcement, many subscribers expressed their concern, some going so far as to hope that it was only a filming scene. “I would have liked it to be a scene from a movie”, “For real???” or even “I thought it was a movie“, we can read among the comments. However, the incident is very real and sadly recalls the tragedy experienced by Gaspard Ulliel, died in a ski accident in January 2022.
The parallel with the actor, disappeared at the age of 37 after a collision on the slopes of La Rosière resorthas not escaped some Internet users. “You're doing well, courage. Unfortunately, this is not the case for everyone. A thought for Gaspard“, wrote a subscriber. Another added “This could unfortunately have ended like Gaspard Ulliel. Life really hangs by a thread.” These messages remind us how dangerous winter sports can be, even for the most experienced.
