40 days after the unfortunate 0-1 defeat with SK Sturm in the Champions League, Christian Ilzer was again a guest at Borussia Dortmund. Things went better as head coach of TSG Hoffenheim because his team managed to equalize in stoppage time to make the final score 1-1.

BVB goal immediately after the break

For BVB the spell was broken in the first minute after the restart. Hoffenheim central defender Stanley Nsoki was still mentally in the locker room and headed a cross straight to Giovanni Reyna, who didn’t need to be asked twice and sank the ball unstoppably into the top right corner of the goal.

This meant that Hoffenheim’s work in the first half was undone. At the beginning the guests even had more of the game before BVB took control. After just over half an hour, a penalty for the home team after an alleged foul on Serhou Guirassy was rightly taken back after a video study.

Ex-Dortmunder equalizes

After the 1-0, Karim Adeyemi missed a great chance to make it 2-0, on the other side Adam Hlozek missed a header after a cross from ÖFB team player Alexander Prass. In stoppage time, it was up to a former Dortmund player, Jacob Bruun Larsen, to equalize. The Dane scored after ex-Austria Vienna striker Haris Tabakovic extended a long throw-in.

The Styrian Marcel Sabitzer came onto the field for the home team after an hour. Dortmund is in eighth place in the table, Hoffenheim is in 14th place.
