Club Brugge defeated league leader Racing Genk 2-0 at home. Mignolet took a penalty from Tolu fifteen minutes before the end, Mechele and Skov Olsen found their way to goal.

Club Brugge-Racing Genk was the top performer of the 18th matchday, in which the number two received the leader. Blauw-zwart was able to narrow the gap to one point if they won, but Genk was seven points ahead if they lost.

A lot was expected from the top player, but he still disappointed in the first half. Club had the best chances, but Tzolis incomprehensibly kicked a goal wide after ten minutes.

Racing Genk offered little offensively, barely managing one shot before halftime. Club came closest to the opening goal, Onyedika kicked the post. So the 0-0 at halftime was more than logical.

Even after the break there were few chances, we had to wait until the 70th minute. Jashari kicked wide from an acute angle. Two minutes later, Genk received a penalty after a foul by Ordonez on Tolu. The leader’s chance to take the lead.

But according to the image of their match, Tolu missed the opportunity, Mignolet chose the right angle. That would be a real blow for Genk, because five minutes later it was the prize on the other side. Mechele, wearing a mask due to a broken nose, headed in a corner kick.

The national champion completed it five minutes before the end. Vanaken set himself behind a free kick in the half-moon, but laid it wide to Skov Olsen. The Dane did not hesitate and curled wonderfully into the side netting with his left.

Club did not relinquish the 2-0 and the national champion now comes within one point of Racing Genk. The Limburgers were nowhere offensively, with Tolu’s penalty miss as the highlight.
