Miss Martinique 2024, Angélique Angarni-Filopon, a 34-year-old flight attendant, the oldest candidate in the history of the competition, was elected Miss France 2025 this Saturday, December 14 on TF1.
“I am constantly reminded of my age, I believe I am well preserved.” A little less than an hour after her coronation, Angélique Angarni-Filopon spoke at a press conference on the night of Saturday, December 14. The oldest candidate in the history of the competition this year, she was elected Miss France 2025.
“But 34 years old is young. They say that the thirties are the best years, I can confirm it to you,” she said, in comments reported by Centre-Presse.
“My short hair, like my age, absolutely does not define me”
Angélique Angarni-Filopon had already run for the Miss Martinique election in 2011. She decided to run again on the occasion of the modernization of the competition, which was banned for years for those over 24.
“My twenties were the period when I searched a lot for myself, when I wanted to be like everyone else and ten years ago, I cut my hair. But my short hair, like my age, does not absolutely not define me, I have great energy, I don't know how to do anything other than smile and we're going to have an incredible year, you'll see,” she declared, according to Paris Match.
She wants to show that it is never too late “to change jobs, change countries, change lives”. “I am living proof,” she said.

What did she think made the difference for her election? “Natural, I rarely know how to pretend,” she assured. “I told myself that in any case I was happy to be part of this promotion. In the end, it was far in my mind that I could win,” she also added.
Angélique Angarni-Filopon also felt that her job as a flight attendant helps her to be comfortable and express herself in public. “When we do the safety demonstrations, we have 372 eyes on us,” she said.
Has the Miss France competition really been modernized?
But above all, she said she got it from her father, who was elected in the town where she grew up, in Val d'Oise. “He is a retired ex-chief brigadier and he continues to train police officers. I think he taught me, my brother and my sister how to manage,” underlined the new Miss France.
She also spoke of her parents and the pride she saw in their eyes after the coronation. “In my family, we are used to not talking much and instead proving things to each other, because we are West Indians, we are very proud,” she concluded.
While the Netherlands decided to scuttle their beauty contest, believing that it was “out of date”, 30 candidates aged 18 to 34 participated in the final of the Miss France 2025 competition.
The runners-up for Miss France 2025 are respectively Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 2024, Sabah Aïb, 18 years old, Miss Corsica 2024, Stella Vangioni, 27 years old, Miss Guadeloupe 2024, Moïra André, 27 years old and Miss Côte d'Azur 2024 , Lilou Emeline-Artuso, 21 years old.
