It was in 1995. Jean-Pierre Foucault hosted a Miss France election for the first time. He took over from Julien Lepers, who had been officiating on the flagship show broadcast by France 3 since 1992, before arriving on TF1. Since then, the years have passed and crowns have been crowned one after the other on the heads of the Misses, proud to represent their region. “I calculated, from the beginning I met 1200you realize all the colleagues waiting behind the door to take my place!”jokes Jean-Pierre Foucault to Tele-Leisure.
Jean-Pierre Foucault has presented Miss France for 30 years: “I’m not the star”
For this 95th edition, which takes place this Saturday, December 14 at the Arena Futuroscope in Poitiers, Jean-Pierre Foucault is celebrating his thirtieth year presenting Miss France. “I'm not planning anything. I don't know if the production has planned anything but I'm not the star, it's the candidates and the one who will wear the crown. 30 years… So the first one I have view must be grandmother”a pensive Jean-Pierre Foucault announced to us a few weeks ago. Finally, this Saturday, the host was still entitled to his hour of glory. Last year he opened the show dressed in pajamas, this year he landed from the ceiling! The song Daddy Cool at full blast, dancers and stage jets, initials in neon: the arrival of the host took place with great fanfare this year. His festive outfit was essential to celebrate this thirtieth anniversary since he dared to wear a jacket covered in mirrors which reminded us of the costumes of Mask Singer and which also recalled this year's theme, “The Miss Ball”.
Miss France 2025 : Micheline Beaurain (Miss France 1970), Laure Belleville elected in 1996… Former winners give a nice surprise to Jean-Pierre Foucault
“There are 30 Miss Regionals vying for a crown, that of Miss France 2025, and this evening, accompanied by former Miss France ready to extend their handthey will illuminate you with their beauty, their elegance, their determination. Miss France 2025: Is Jean-Pierre Foucault thinking about retirement? He answers us!
Despite the years that pass, Jean-Pierre Foucault still takes great pleasure in presenting the beauty contest which last year brought together more than 7.24 million viewers. “It's the last major live broadcast, with 3h30, and entertainment on television. I do my job in a large room, in front of thousands of people and it's a real pleasure.” But while the host celebrated his 77th birthday at the end of November, is he thinking of stopping? “Retirement is an administrative word but when you do a job that you like, when you do a public job and you don’t have any rejection… I'm not saying that I'm going to present Miss France until I'm 90, I wouldn't have the physical capabilities. I'm not thinking about retirement. I partially retired myself by stopping all other activities. I did it myself before I was pushed to do it.”explains the one that we will find from December 27 in a brand new show on TF1, entitled Gladiators.
