Fem van Empel takes her sixth victory of the season in Herentals, after Brand and Alvarado killed themselves

Fem van Empel crossed the line completely solo in the X2O Bathroom Trophy in Herentals. Lucinda Brand and Ceylin Alvarado had some bad luck, but were able to take second and third place respectively in the sprint.

Fem van Empel was the first to enter the field. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, Laura Verdonschot, Lucinda Brand, Annemarie Worst, Puck Langenbarg, Marion Norbert Riberolle and Sanne Cant, among others, tried to keep the rear wheel of the world champion. Brand, Van Empel, Alvarado and Worst entered the second round in that order with a lead of 22 seconds over Sanne Cant. Denise Betsema and Manon Bakker followed 28 seconds later.

The four-man Dutch entente continued to pass vigorously until Lucinda Brand attacked after 20 minutes of the match. Van Empel fought his way to the Dutch champion, while Alvarado crashed in the equipment post after taking on a new bike and lost valuable time. With two laps to go, Worst was 13 seconds and Alvarado 28 seconds behind the Van Empel-Brand duo. Sanne Cant remained in fifth place at 1:15. Brand made a mistake on the Ski Mountain and had to put his foot down.

Fem van Empel was thus given a free pass for a sixth victory this season. Worst, Alvarado and Brand formed a chasing trio in the final lap. Worst had a hard time and Brand turned out to be faster than Alvarado after a sprint.
