Trailing against the run of play following a goal in added time in the first period from Abdel Hakim Abdallah (0-1, 45th+3), the Clermontois managed to snatch a draw following Yadaly Diaby's equalizer in very end of the match (1-1, 89th).

We had to be patient to see the Ruthenian lock finally jump during this last outing of 2024 on the lawn of Gabriel-Montpied. Faced with a team in full swing, the Clermontois spared no effort. From the quarter of an hour into the game it was Maïdine Douane who tested Lionnel Mpasi with a curling shot from the edge of the area.

Dominant, Laurent Batlles' men have the ball but we have to wait until after half an hour of play to see them appear dangerous again. On the counter-attack, Maïdine Douane tries her luck again and falls on Mpasi (35th). In the process, the goalkeeper intervenes on a shot from Cheick Konaté diverted by the back of Mehdi Baaloudj (36th). A few seconds later, Maïdine Douane saw her shot go too wide (37th).

On a cross from Mehdi Baaloudj, Ousmane Diop turns away with his head, but the ball goes just over the bar (43rd). At the end of added time, it was Rodez who opened the scoring against the run of play on an Abdel Hakim Abdallah center shot (0-1, 45th+3).

Returning from the locker room, the Clermontois came very close to equalizing. Maïdine Douane's blocked shot ends up on the bar while Mpasi is beaten. Ousmane Diop, who had followed well, saw his head meet the same fate (49th).

We therefore had to wait until the last minutes to see Yadaly Diaby succeed in deceiving Mpasi who kept his team afloat for a long time on a good cross from Yoël Armougom (1-1, 89th). In stoppage time, the Clermontois even came close to forcing the decision. yadaly Diaby, again, sees his cross shot pushed back just in front of the line by Nolan Galves (90th). In stoppage time, Mons Bassouamina's blocked shot came close to lobbing Mpasi who made a final save which deprived Johan Gastien and his teammates of 3 points which would have been good.

After 16 days, Clermont Foot 63 is 14th with 17 points. Before the break, Laurent Batlles' men will have to try to secure their qualification during the 32nd finals of the Coupe de on the Sochaux pitch, Sunday December 22 at 5:30 p.m.
