The Epinal criminal court ruled this Friday, December 13, 2024. The motorist who fatally knocked down a 29-year-old young woman while she was crossing a pedestrian crossing in front of the Intercommunal multimedia library of the city of Épinal, rue Saint-Michel, was sentenced to two years in prison.

The tragedy occurred on October 31 and caused great emotion in the sector. The victim was a municipal employee. The driver tested positive for drugs and alcohol after his hospitalization. Drugs were found inside the vehicle.

The defendant's lawyer announced after the hearing that he would appeal.
