National clubs are mobilizing for an ambitious and historic reform: the creation of a professional Ligue 3.
Seventeen teams have joined forces to promote this initiative, which they consider essential to modernize and structure French Football. A symbolic action will mark this mobilization during the 15th day of the championship. Players, staff and managers will wear a t-shirt displaying the slogan “Ligue 3 is now” during the warm-up. A collective photo will illustrate their unity in the face of this crucial issue for the future of French football. Through this action, the clubs wish to attract the attention of decision-makers and raise awareness among the general public.
Ligue 3 is now
The National clubs put forward several arguments in favor of the creation of a third professional division: the homogenization of regulations, the promotion of the championship, economic and sporting stability and finally the overall dynamism of amateur football.
The clubs are turning directly to decision-makers, notably the candidates for the presidency of the French Football Federation (FFF), Philippe Diallo and Pierre Samsonoff. They call on the latter to make this reform a priority in their program. The approach is a continuation of recent reforms, such as the transition from Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 to 18 clubs, and aims to strengthen the foundations of French professional football.
This mobilization demonstrates an unusual unity between clubs, regardless of their sporting rivalries or their financial situation. Everyone agrees on the urgency and importance of this reform to ensure the future of football in France. This collective movement illustrates their desire to put forward the general interest before individual concerns. The message is clear: Ligue 3 is now. A reform which could redefine the future of French football by offering increased stability and better competitiveness at all levels.
