Very humid weather in the south of France and from the Cévennes to Puy-de-Dôme and as far as Doubs, watch out for snow in the mountains.
Météo France has issued a yellow alert for snow and ice for 15 departments in the evening and night of Friday December 13, and up to 17 departments in the morning of Saturday December 14. This vigilance began this Friday the 13th at 6 p.m. and will end this Saturday the 14th at 10 a.m.
This yellow snow alert concerns the departments around the Rhône valley up to Haute-Saône, on the Alps side and on the Massif Central side, but not the departments on the Mediterranean coast, from Gard to Var, affected by a rainy episode. On the Massif Central side, 5 departments are on yellow alert for snow, including one in Occitanie:
- Drome
- Loire
- Haute-Loire
- Ardeche
- Cantal
- Lozere
It is by going up to the Massif Central and the Alps that this rainy episode will turn into snow, around 1,000 m altitude, perhaps lower.
The snow began to fall heavily on the heights of the Cévennes and on Aubrac this Friday, while in Aveyron, rain mixed with snow fell on Lévezou.
