discovering the Oueil valley

It is one of the best preserved small valleys in the Pyrenees, those which offer the privilege of feeling alone in the world. With its string of villages enhanced by the first snows of December, everything here invites us to slow down, from the peaks to the plate. The 1 p.m. news takes you to the Oueil valley (Haute-Garonne), for a peaceful break, far from the big ski resorts. L'Oueil is the source that rocked all the life of this valley at a time when agriculture and its small mills punctuated the daily life of its inhabitants. We can imagine the courage it took for millers at the time to work in a dark and poorly insulated place. This agro-pastoral life seems very distant today.
