Final Fantasy VII Rebirth fans won’t have to wait much longer to play Square Enix’s big remake on PC.
On the night that it was nominated in numerous categories at The Game Awards 2024, including Game of the Year, Square Enix announced that the PS5 exclusive is officially headed to PC. It will release on January 23, 2025, just shy of the original release’s one year anniversary.
As expected, the PC version will included numerous enhancements over the console release, including enhancements to the textures and more. It also opens the door to mods and other improvements. It joins Final Fantasy VII Remake and its Intergrade expansion.
The sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake, Rebirth continues the story of the original PS1 game, but with several twists. We wrote in our review, “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth impressively builds off of what Remake set in motion as both a best-in-class action-RPG full of exciting challenge and depth, and as an awe-inspiring recreation of a world that has meant so much to so many for so long.”
The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC release is just one of many announcements at The Game Awards, which has so far included The Witcher 4 and a new Elden Ring game. You can read all of the announcements here as well as our running list of award winners.
