If the Game Awards are generally an opportunity to celebrate the past year in the field of video games and to award a few trophies, what we remember from this year's evening are mainly the announcements of upcoming games. So let's get rid of the name of the winner right away: best game of the year, Astrobot on PS5 from Team Asobi, headed by Frenchman Nicolas Doucet, coorico! Now, let's move on to the interesting announcements of which there were many, classified a little haphazardly as they almost all deserve to be cited first!
Intergalactic : The Heretic Prophet
Last announcement of the evening, Naughty Dog (the studio behind the saga Uncharted and the duology The Last of Us please) dropped a little bomb in the form of the first trailer for his next game: Intergalactic : The Heretic Prophet. We'll let you discover all of this but between the Porsche ship, the CD player, the heroine, her weapon, the final enemy or the soundtrack, we don't really know which is more classy. No release date has been announced, we just know that this next one system seller will be released on PS5 first and likely on PC a few months later.

The Witcher 4
Is it still necessary to present the saga initially imagined by Andrzej Sapkowski and brought into video game form by the talented developers of CD Projekt? The fourth opus, long awaited by fans of Geralt of Rivia, showed its first images yesterday in a breathtaking trailer. Of course, we haven't seen any gameplay images, but it's Geralt's protégé Ciri who stars this time. Sebastian Kalemba, director of the game, confirms this change of protagonist: “For a very long time, we knew that we wanted Ciri to be the protagonist of The Witcher IV; it felt natural to us and we think Ciri deserves it“. On the other hand, we still do not know the release date of The Witcher 4.

Elden Ring: Nightreign
Another widely appreciated license, Elden Ring will be entitled to a spin off taking place in his universe and called Nightreign. If Elden Ring was a solo adventure, Night rain will only be playable in multiplayer, up to three players. Another new feature is that the playing field uses procedural generation technology to be unique in each game and the bosses will therefore never be located in the same places. Release planned for 2025.
Borderlands 4
After an unoriginal third opus and a spinoff Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands disappointing, Gearbox Software announces a Borderlands 4 much more ambitious for 2025: exit the uninspired influencer nemeses, hello to the new villain almost as charismatic as Handsome Jack. As always, we are told of billions of different weapons available, four characters with very different characteristics and more extensive skill trees, lots of planets to visit and a Cl4ptr4p.
Okami 2
So this one, we hadn't planned. Hideki Kamiya, director of Clovers ex Clover Studio announced thatOkami 2 entered the pre-production phase. Released in 2006, this action-RPG game charmed critics and players as much with its dreamlike universe as with its main heroine, its story or even its production while Cel Shading. Back after 18 years of absence, we hope that Amaterasu's next adventures will be as enchanting as before. However, we will have to wait a long time; no date has been announced and the magnificent trailer released seems not to contain any gameplay elements.
Fumito Ueda's new game
Another Nippon video game legend, Fumito Ueda made a small appearance to reveal his next game to fans, still in the form of a trailer. We perfectly recognize the touch of the man to whom we owe Ico, Shadow of the Colossus et The Lest Guardian in an apocalyptic trailer which will bring back good memories to those who had the joy of climbing on immense creatures to make them get down on one knee. Once again, the release date is completely unknown, but we're looking forward to it.
