The Game Awards 2024 is in the books, and it brought a heap of exciting news, including trailers for The Witcher 4, Okami 2, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a new space adventure from Naughty Dog. Of course, in addition to giving us our first glimpse at what’s coming in the world of gaming, the show also looked back, honoring the outstanding games – and developers who make them – of the last year.
Six games were nominated for the top prize of Game of the Year: Astro Bot, Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, with Astro Bot taking home the top prize and three additional wins. Balatro also won big, taking home three awards total.
