A serious accident occurred this Thursday in Flers (Orne), where a 7-year-old girl was hit by a school bus. His vital prognosis is in jeopardy. According to Ouest-France, the tragedy took place shortly before 3 p.m. at an intersection, while dozens of children from the Joseph-Morin-La Fontaine school were waiting for their buses after a school trip.
According to initial information, the child fell on the road and his coat got caught in a wheel of the vehicle, causing very serious injuries. A Civil Security Dragon 50 helicopter intervened quickly to transport her to a hospital in absolute emergency.
Witnesses in shock
Nineteen firefighters were on site to deal with the accident, while witnesses, in a state of shock, received psychological support. The police and sub-prefect Isabelle Rioux went to the scene to coordinate operations.
At the same time, 80 children present during the incident were grouped together at the Madeleine-Louaintier center under the supervision of firefighters and municipal teams. The latter had to be taken back to their school around 6 p.m., where their parents were waiting for them.
