Boots: Ivanovic (33e et 90e+2) for USG // Guessand (45e+1) for the Aiglons
Traveling to the King Baudouin stadium, OGC Nice returned from Belgium with frostbite and a defeat in the final seconds (2-1).
The first Belgian incursion was a good one for the USG. Launched by Koki Machida's crossbar, Ousseynou Niang had the space to give it back to Mohammed Fousseini, whose recovery was pushed back by Marcin Bulka and benefited Franjo Ivanović who only had to push the ball deep (1-0, 33e). The Niçois, fortunately, had the necessary rebound capacity, since in the process, Evann Guessand put his team in the right direction. A low cross from Sofiane Diop allowed the Ivorian to cut in at the near post from the left and leave Anthony Moris no chance (1-1, 45e+1).
Nice is on the verge of elimination
Visibly cut by the cold and the muddy lawn of Brussels, the legs of the 22 actors no longer gave much after the break. Note, all the same, the rescue on his line from Tom Louchet, focus when clearing the header from a corner by Christian Burgess (68e). For the rest, we will especially thank Sofiane Boufal for the ball fun. But there was one last action left! In added time, Franjo Ivanović, completely forgotten at the far post after Anouar Ait El Hadj's shift, only had to wrap his ball high (2-1, 90e+2). With only two points on the clock and a goal difference of -8 (third worst in this Europa League season), Nice remains penultimate in the standings and is therefore almost eliminated. The Saint-Gilloise Union will play its last cards to hold a barrage.
