Famous lawyer Juan Branco is accused by several women of sexual assault and rape. He has since been indicted three times. The complainants spoke for the first time to the newspaper Libération.
The Franco-Spanish political activist and lawyer is known in particular for his involvement in the yellow vest movement but also his firm opposition to the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron. The 35-year-old man is also very media-focused by being very present on social networks but also by appearing on various television sets, such as that of TPMP, Cyril Hanouna's show on C8.
Juan Branco is the target of three complaints for sexual violence committed between 2017 and 2019. Although he subsequently denied the complainants' accusations by humiliating and intimidating them, the lawyer was triple indicted.
Several of the alleged victims testified to the daily Libération and gave chilling stories about the actions of the council.
“It started to spin.”
In total, the newspaper collected four testimonies from victims but only three of them took legal action. One of the complainants explains that she interacted with Juan Branco on social networks regarding one of his works. The latter then proposed a meeting. The events took place in 2018.
Having no more battery at the end of the evening she agrees to go to his house, that's when everything changes. “At first I avoided his kisses, embarrassed. Then he started to twist, becoming more and more insistent. He threw himself on me, licked my ear, offered me sex oral, asked for erotic foot play, with every advance, every touch, every time he came back, I said no.she says.
“You're never prepared to experience rape. It's terrifying to see someone you've idolized for years turn into a sexual predator in front of you. I only managed to ask him to put on a condom. Subconsciously, I knew that an unwanted pregnancy or illness would be a double punishment.”she tells with fear Liberation.
“I felt a huge shock”
The account of a second complainant also presents violent and very “suddenly”and has some similarities with the first testimony. This happens once again at the end of the evening, after leaving a nightclub, Juan Branco and another woman go to a Parisian apartment.
The court officer attacks her while she is smoking a cigarette in the window. “He comes up behind my back, pulls down my pants, penetrates me, holding me firmly by the waist,” she says. “I felt a huge shock, terror, my body petrified. He knocked me down onto the sofa right next to it, and I remember dodging him with my head so as not to let him kiss me.”
It was only the next morning that she managed to return home, where she “collapses”.
A poorly kept secret
Others denounce similar actions by the thirty-year-old Franco-Spanish man. If “the final indictment from the Paris prosecutor's office is awaited on the sexual violence aspect”the lawyer did not wait to dismantle the complainants' versions on social networks, revealing violations of the secrecy of the investigation.
The day after the complaints were filed at the police station, grossly distorted stories were relayed by Juan Branco, while comparing the victims to prostitutes.
