“Libération” collected for the first time the testimony of four women who denounced sexual violence committed by the lawyer between 2017 and 2021. A singular case since the 35-year-old counsel, triple indicted, then humiliated and intimidated the complainants on the Internet.
First there were the traumatic events, today described as rape or sexual assault by the courts. Then, the humiliation, with a lot of tweets, which throw away the dignity and privacy of those who accuse him. In recent months, Liberation was able to speak with the three complainants at the heart of the criminal proceedings targeting the controversial lawyer Juan Branco. And which earned him three indictments, first in November 2021 and then twice in June 2023. Two of them, whose stories describe rape, are speaking out for the first time. A fourth woman agreed to meet us. She also accuses him of rape, but does not wish, for the moment, to take legal action.
The specificity of this case, unprecedented in terms of sexual violence, is due to the double pain experienced by those who testified and on whom Juan Branco, 35 years old, then vented his anger. On June 4, 2023, several of them witnessed, stunned and helpless, the publication of naked photos, extracts from their hearing minutes, all coated in insulting remarks on the lawyer's X account – without reaction from moderators despite multiple reports.
