AC Milan just about got over the line against Red Star in the Champions League at San Siro, but they emerge with a couple of injury concerns.
Milan made it four wins in a row in the Champions League by beating Red Star 2-1but they needed a late goal to spare their blushes which Tammy Abraham got after coming off the bench.
There was a worrying moment in the 25th minute when Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Yunus Musah both went down at opposite ends of the field in obvious discomfort. The American continued, while the former Chelsea man was replaced by Samuel Chukwueze.
Things got even worse a few minutes later when Alvaro Morata took a tumble and fell awkwardly. He tried to play on but couldn’t, so a second change was needed to bring Abraham on.
According to what we have learned, both players have suffered muscle strains. The Spanish striker appears to have a flexor issue, while the English midfielder has an adductor problem.
Both are likely to be back at Milanello in the morning for tests and possibly scans, with the potential that they might have to miss Sunday’s game against Genoa if the results are not good.
