What a strange scene, is that the goal for Stuttgart? Rieder claims the ball on the baseline and places it in the middle. The assistant sees the ball out of bounds and raises the flag – and referee Kruashvili sees this, but allows play to continue. Because the Bernese had already stopped playing at this point, Millot easily defeated Von Ballmoos. The VAR switches on.

Similar to the beginning of the game, YB is currently standing high, Stuttgart is struggling with the build-up game.

By the way, Camara probably injured himself a bit during his rescue operation before the break. Pfeiffer took a precaution during the break, but the Guinean is still on the pitch.

And right at the beginning of the half there was a huge chance for Stuttgart. Only seconds have been played when Demirovic is launched on the left side, but he shoots the ball into the side netting.

We continue in Stuttgart. The home team changes immediately, Karazor leaves the pitch and Keitel replaces him.

Great performance by YB in the Champions League. Against Stuttgart, the Bernese were wide awake right from the start – and surprisingly scored the first goal with a long-range shot from Lakomy. As a result, VfB strengthened, and at times YB was really surrounded in the penalty area. The goal conceded is only a matter of time – and finally comes in the 25th minute through Stiller after a clever one-two. The Young Boys defended themselves as well as they could until halftime and prevented any further goals being conceded. And they deserve a respectable success: the score between the two teams is 1:1 at half-time. It’s about to continue!

And then referee Kruashvili blows the whistle for half-time. The score is 1:1 between YB and Stuttgart.

Stopped cleanly by Camara! Now something is happening shortly before the break. Hadjam loses the ball (again!) while dribbling. Demirovic is sent on his way, he can shake off Benito, but Camara steals the ball from him at the last moment. Great action from the man from Guinea.

The Young Boys are in a bit of pressure right now, but nothing dangerous is going to happen just before the break. Imeri narrowly missed taking the ball into the penalty area. A draw at halftime against Stuttgart would be a respectable success.

Another half-attack from YB. Monteiro tries to force his way into the penalty area on the left side. But the hurdle in the person of Vagnoman was a bit too big and Stuttgart was back in possession of the ball.

A shot for YB! A pretty desperate one though. Goalscorer Lakomy gets possession of the ball in the center circle and then tries from around 40 meters. But of course he wasn’t even a goal threat. It was probably more for statistics.

The game turns into a defensive battle for the Bernese. With 70% now, Stuttgart dominates the game, the next goal seems to be only a matter of time.

You can hear it in the stadium: Von Ballmoos has the ball again. The majority of the 60,000 fans are not at all happy when the Bern keeper has the ball. He took his time with a goal kick a quarter of an hour ago or so. Too much time for the home fans, every touch of the ball now results in a concert of whistles.

The Bernese are immediately looking for the answer, but Stuttgart is now more composed. In the duel with Vagnoman, Monteiro committed a striker’s foul – and was visibly annoyed by referee Kruashvili’s decision.

In the last few minutes it became apparent 1:1! Stiller isn’t really tackled, a short one-two with Vagnoman, then Stiller can slot in calmly. The two of them had far too much space, the Bernese had already used up their luck with the last scene.

YB just had to claim a lot of luck. First Rieder is blocked, then Hadjam starts dribbling in the penalty area for some inexplicable reason – and loses the ball. As a result, Rouault calmly passes it to Demirovic, who slams the ball over the goal from around 7 meters. That should have been the equalizer.

Mittelstädt crosses from the left, Karazor takes a direct shot, but shoots over it from a long distance.

And yes, it’s quite a cauldron here, this MHPArena. Around 60,000 fans are watching today’s game. And most of them are screaming in outrage because Monteiro allows himself a push.

Because YB caught VfB well. It took six minutes for Lakomy to score. That means the fastest goal ever in the Champions League. And the fastest goal conceded for Stuttgart.
