In “28 Days Later”, released in 2002, with Cillian Murphy for the first time in the cinema zombies could run. And very quickly. Worse: the Irish actor plays a zombie. At least that's what we think we see furtively at the 113th second of the trailer below. In the middle of a field, a dead man stands up and his face, although in a dirty state, looks a lot like that of Cillian Murphy.
Is it him? Contacted by “Variety”, Sony Pictures did not respond to the question. However, in the synopsis, we read that “secrets, miracles and horrors that have mutated not only those infected, but other survivors as well” will be discovered. This could be the fate reserved for the man who played the father of the atomic bomb. Unless Alex Garland and Danny Boyle are looking to cover their tracks. Note that Cillian Murphy is not credited in the main roles but as executive producer.
“28 Years Later” is expected in cinemas in French-speaking Switzerland on June 18, 2025.
