DIGI enters Belgian market with affordable fiber and mobile services

From December 11, 2024, DIGI expands its commercial operations in Europe and launches fixed broadband fiber broadband internet as well as mobile voice and data services in the Belgian market. With a user-centered strategy and a strong commitment to delivering high-performance, cost-effective and stable solutions, the company aims to redefine the way Belgian consumers will access technology and entertainment.

DIGI, the newest player in the Belgian telecom industry, is committed to bringing added value through reliable and competitive solutions and is announcing a simple offer, specifically designed to meet the needs and consumption habits of subscribers.

Users will enjoy ultra-fast internet with transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps, mobile options with high data volumes and, in the future, a variety of content, always with the certainty of the best value for money.

“We are committed to making telecoms affordable for all Belgian consumers. Today we are taking the first step towards this goal, with the aim of providing top-notch services coupled with a transparent and fair pricing policy. We build, test and optimize everything in-house, which allows us to control costs efficiently so that the resulting savings directly benefit our customers. We draw on the extensive experience of our own teams, responsible for developing networks in Romania, Spain, Italy and Portugal, successfully serving over 26 million revenue-generating units across Europe. We are ready to deliver what we promise: state-of-the-art technology and exceptional technical support for future DIGI customers,” said Jeroen Degadt, Managing Director DIGI Belgium.

DIGI is introducing the DIGI Mobile Light plan, with 15 GB included data traffic, which can be purchased for just €5/month, to meet the connectivity needs of 75% of Belgians (according to a report published by BIPT – Belgian Institute for Postal and Telecommunications Services in December 2023).

The DIGI Fiber fixed internet service offers three subscription options, all with free installation and WiFi included:

  • DIGI Fiber Essentials: 500 Mbps for €10/month;
  • DIGI Fiber Max: 1 Gbps at €15/month;
  • DIGI Fiber Ultimate: 10 Gbps at €20/month.

For larger homes or those with multiple users, DIGI Fiber integrates WiFi 6, which ensures a fast and stable browsing experience. WiFi 7 will also be implemented soon, available to those who choose the 10 Gbps package. Those interested in enhanced performance and optimal coverage can also add DIGI WiFi Booster.

DIGI Fiber is already operational in Cureghem (Brussels) and will gradually be activated in other districts of the capital and in several other Belgian cities.

“Today, we are delighted to inaugurate DIGI’s commercial operations in Belgium, the fifth country where the DIGI Group is present. By leveraging the resources and expertise of our international colleagues, we continue to build an advanced fiber and mobile network through strategic collaborations and long-term investments in this market. The development of DIGI’s own infrastructure is essential in order to be able to gradually offer quality services at fair prices to all local consumers,” added Valentin Popoviciu, Executive Director of DIGI Communications.

“As one of the key supporters behind DIGI in Belgium, we are extremely proud of this ambitious project. We are convinced that DIGI will change the local telecom landscape in the B2C segment, as Citymesh has already done in the B2B sector. Expanding the network in the main cities is a priority for us, so that as many consumers as possible can benefit from the affordable prices and quality services we offer. Together with DIGI, we have formed a strong and complementary partnership through which we aim to deliver unrivaled connectivity solutions for both business and residential subscribers,” added Mitch De Geest, Citymesh CEO.
