However, nothing is lost and, at present, I estimate the chances of a white Christmas at 20-25% in Florennes and areas near 300 m altitude. No more than 10% in Brussels and 40 to 45% on the Ardennes summits like Botrange or Baraque Fraiture. We will be set or almost at the end of the second decade and I insist on the fact that everything is still possible even if the cold air is not yet well established in Europe.
And for the rest of the country this Wednesday?
A large cell of high pressure over the British Isles and instability in southern Europe. We will not be too badly placed in this northeast flow but still very humid in the low levels. It will not rain but many stratus clouds will maintain this dark and very sad atmosphere throughout the country. Also, freezing fog will be possible up to the center under a small inversion.
No change is expected midday and afternoon with a low ceiling and perhaps the chance of a micro gap in the far south or at the sea. Elsewhere, we will be able to brush but it will be dry and less windy from the northeast (20-25 km/h). In the evening, the sky will tend to tear a little more clearly on either side of the Sambre and Meuse furrow.
