Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has given an update on his health after replacing striker Kylian Mbappé due to injury in the win against Atalanta Bergamo in the Champions League.
The Frenchman had to leave the pitch in the 35th minute after apparently injuring himself without any influence from the opponent. Mbappé was able to leave the pitch on his own, but the early change still conjured up one or two worry lines on Ancelotti’s forehead.
After the game, however, the Italian coach gave the all-clear: “He has a strain, a bit of discomfort in his thigh,” Ancelotti said after the game ESPN. “We’ll have to wait and see. It doesn’t look serious, but I don’t know, we’ll see tomorrow. He couldn’t sprint. It annoyed him that we had to replace him.”
Mbappé has faced a lot of criticism this season, but has been in good form with three goals in the last four games. This also included the opening goal against Atalanta Bergamo in the 10th minute, with which the 25-year-old scored his twelfth goal of the season.
