Stevan Jovetic names two ‘dangerous’ players who could be key for Man City in Juventus clash

Manchester City will be taking on a Serie A side for the second time this season on Wednesday night.

In their first Champions League match of the campaign, City picked up a 0-0 draw against Inter Milan – who they beat in the 2022/23 final to secure the Treble.

Three months on from that draw at the Etihad Stadium, the Blues will be flying out to Italy to take on another Serie A side.

This time, City will be facing off against Juventus in Turin for their latest attempt to make it through to the next stage of the competition.

Looking ahead to this clash against Thiago Motta’s side, a former City player who has faced off against Juventus on numerous occasions has pinpointed two figures who could play big roles in Wednesday’s fixture.

Stevan Jovetic names Man City duo who could be key vs Juventus

In a recent interview with TuttoJuve in association with TuttoMercatoWeb, Stevan Jovetic was asked which players he thinks could be decisive for either team in Wednesday’s clash, saying this in response.

He said: “I’ll say [Kevin] De Bruyne, because he makes the difference when he’s in form. He’s the strongest in midfield, he can score goals and invent assists out of nowhere.

“[Erling] Haaland always scores, he’s a sure thing. I’ve mentioned two, but City have dangerous players who can always do damage.”

City will need Haaland and De Bruyne to deliver against Juventus

Starting all five of City’s Champions League matches, Haaland has found the back of the net five times in total.

Then with De Bruyne, he showed by scoring and assisting against Nottingham Forest in his first start since the 0-0 draw with Inter that he can have a big impact in front of goal.

Therefore, it’s easy to see why Jovetic, who featured in 44 matches for City, has picked these two names as being potentially vital for Pep Guardiola’s side in their latest Champions League outing.

With Juventus only managing to keep one clean sheet in their five European outings this season – which came during their 0-0 draw with Aston Villa – this could give the Manchester club some hope that the attacking duo of De Bruyne and Haaland can cause the Italian side some serious problems.
