It was the Société des crematoriums de France which won the contract for the Montceau crematorium. A choice validated Monday evening by the elected officials of the municipal council.
Lionel Duparay, the finance assistant, read the different criteria and the answers provided by the three candidates. The company chosen over the companies Rollet and OGF (general funeral directors), was able to make the difference thanks to a much higher proposed fee.
Significant royalty
“The French crematorium company made a big financial proposal including a fee of €50,000 per year to the city over the entire period when the others were €12,000 and €15,000,” explained the deputy. To this fixed fee is added a variable part which the operator also estimates at €50,000 (excluding tax).
“It’s an operation that costs the municipality nothing but is profitable,” noted Gérard Gronfier, 1is deputy, when Marie-Claude Jarrot highlighted the importance of this file “for Montceau but the entire mining basin. It’s a very good service for the area.” On the opposition side, Isabelle Louis was surprised – with happiness – at the price list that will be offered to the public: “We are really below what is done elsewhere. Do we know why? »
Adapted prices
According to the information provided by the operator, the total cost of the same ceremony will be €970 when it is just over 1,000 euros in Le Creusot (by the same operator) or 1,200 in Crissey. “I think this is the advantage of the long concession and the operator has also been able to adapt to the territory. It will be a quality and affordable service. »
The 34-year concession is expected to generate an estimated turnover of €35 million based on 700 to 800 cremations per year. Three full-time equivalent jobs will be created. All that remains is to be patient since the construction of the site, in the Prélong area, should take two years.
