This December 10, Sony shared the first trailer for its highly anticipated film “28 Years Later”. We see Cillian Murphy in a new role. The feature film is released in cinemas on June 20, 2025.
Intense. “28 Years Later,” one of the most anticipated films of 2025, has just been announced via an action-packed trailer. We notably see Aaron Taylor-Johnson in a main role or even Cillian Murphy, whose appearance as a zombie (visible at 1min. 53) caused a lot of talk on social networks. A role which confirms the announcements of the head of Sony studios, who promised a “surprising” appearance from the Irish star. A few days ago, a first teaser was offered by Sony. In a message in Morse code, the studio indicated the word “Tuesday” several times, which could imply that more information would arrive on December 10.
The first film in a trilogy?
“28 Years Later” is directed by Danny Boyle, with Alex Garland as screenwriter. A return to basics for the duo, at the origin of the film “28 days later”, where we could already appreciate the acting of Cillian Murphy.
The film, which could well be the first part of a trilogy, confirms the significant renewed interest of cinema in the post-apocalyptic genre.
