The next trailer for Borderlands 4 will be revealed during The Game Awards on Thursday.
In a post on social media Monday morning, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said that the new trailer will air at some point during the show. As far as what’s in the trailer, Pitchford confirmed it will feature actual gameplay as well as cinematics.
“Yes, there is game play in the trailer,” Pitchford said. “Also, in addition to a lot of in-game footage, I will share a sick, never-before-seen original cinematic sequence depicting a moment that occurs about half way between the end of Borderlands 3 and the beginning of Borderlands 4. I AM EXCITE!”
Announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Borderlands 4 is currently scheduled to release sometime in 2025. For those worried about it being too close to that of Grand Theft Auto 6, Take-Two Interactive says they won’t launch close to each other.
Insider Gaming will have full coverage of The Game Awards on December 12, including a list of all award winners.
Recently, a terminally ill fan had the chance to play an early version of the game. According to Caleb McAlpine, he said that the game was “amazing” for what he was able to play.
