On 5th December, H.E. Mr. Xiao Jianguo, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam attended the Closing Ceremony of Project on Hybrid Rice Senior Expert Consultant, together with Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism. Mr. Abuzar bin Haji Mohd Tahir, Acting Director of Agriculture and Agrifood, Mr. Shi Rongke, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, Chinese experts of Yuan Longping High-Tech Agriculture Co. Ltd. and representatives of trainees from Brunei participated in the above event.
Ambassador Xiao congratulated the successful completion of the Project and presented certificates to the trainees. He also expressed willingness to continue to further strengthen rice industry cooperation between China and Brunei, to enhance food self-efficiency.
The Permanent Secretary and Mr. Abuzar thanked the Chinese side for its kind support to this project, which helped the trainees to further master the rice technology, and looked forward to more exchanges and cooperation between the two sides to enhance the resilience of agricultural development.
