On Monday morning, a 76-year-old man from Truyerstraat in Heers was found seriously injured on the street. The man later died from his injuries. The Limburg public prosecutor’s office sent the lab and a medical examiner to the scene. They confirm that it was probably a hit-and-run collision. “The precise circumstances are continuing to be investigated,” says Anna Degraen, spokesperson for the Limburg public prosecutor’s office The Newsblade.

According to the neighbors, the man probably came from a neighborhood party. No debris from a car was found on the road in front of his house.

Call for witnesses

The local police of the Haspengouw zone made the findings and will also conduct further investigation. The public prosecutor’s office asks witnesses to report to the police. Anyone who has seen suspicious behavior or who thinks they know something about the events in the Truyenstraat in Heers around 1 am on Monday morning is also asked to call the Haspengouw police on 012/25.90.00.
