Anderlecht cruises to a win against Beerschot: Rats got under their skin for 90 minutes, even Dolberg was frustrated

Anderlecht did not drop any points against Beerschot this time, but needed blood, sweat and Anders Dreyer for that. In added time he scored the 2-1 after the Rats managed to get under the skin of the Brussels team for an entire match. Even Dolberg suffered from it.

As we predicted on Thursday, the field in the Lotto Park was in a dramatic condition. And Anderlecht in particular suffered from that. After seven minutes we had already seen a lot of bad passes and a goal… from Beerschot. Colassin painted the ball on the head of Al-Sahafi and he beat Coosemans with a nice arc.

Stroeykens is also out

If things aren’t going well at Anderlecht, some people quickly start complaining. The throwaway gestures towards teammates were not bad. It didn’t make much difference. Dolberg was in Mbe Soh’s back pocket and was unreachable. Although there were also some catches involved.

Beerschot left the ball completely to the home team and counted on mistakes. They came too and every time Al-Sahafi left, it was all hands on deck. To make matters worse for the people of Brussels, Stroeykens also dropped out after landing incorrectly following a tackle. After Edozie, Degreef, Ashimeru, Hazard and Vertonghen, this is starting to become a lot.

Lack of aggressiveness

His replacement Yari Verschaeren scored the equalizer three minutes after he was on the field. Once again thanks to a very good assist from Foket, who is clearly growing into his best form after being allowed to play a few matches in a row.

It was fortunate for the Purple & White, because adjustments could be made at half time. And a few boys are reminded of their duties. Because in terms of aggressiveness and commitment, David Hubert will not have been satisfied with everyone. To name just one: Leander Dendoncker. It arrived a little too late everywhere.

Phases with odor on

Anderlecht had continuous possession of the ball in the second half, but the chances remained scarce. Although there were a few questionable phases in the sixteen. Mbe Soh eventually no longer had an eye for the ball, only for Dolberg. He claimed a penalty three times, but did not get one. A lot was allowed by ref Lambrechts. The ice rabbit even showed frustration when he was kicked, pulled or pushed yet again.

Anderlecht kept pounding and Dolberg had a good header chance. With 25 minutes to go, no one believed that Beerschot was going to keep this up. But look, they kept throwing life and limb at it. For effort, a big 10 for Dirk Kuyt’s men.

Dreyer anyway

But in the final phase they folded anyway. Anderlecht stood in Beerschot’s sixteen with nine men and eventually the ball fell properly. Anders Dreyer with his most important goal of the season after an assist from Vazquez. Because you can be sure that the frustration would have been great if the 2-1 had not fallen.
