Arsenal fans have been left furious after they dropped more points in a 1-1 draw at Fulham – and are demanding that Mikel Arteta makes a key change.
The Gunners went behind in the first half through Raul Jimenez, but equalised after the break when William Saliba headed in from close range.
Arsenal were again a threat from set pieces and crosses into the box, and thought they had won the game late on through Bukayo Saka.
But the England winger’s goal was ruled out after Gabriel Martinelli was deemed to be offside by VAR, and Arsenal couldn’t find the breakthrough that would have closed the gap to leaders Liverpool to just four points.
And Gunners fans believe Arteta must make a key personnel change to put an end to their recent mixed form, despite successive wins over West Ham and Manchester United in the past eight days.
Some supporters want the Spaniard to take Kai Havertz out of the team despite assisting Saliba’s goal.
And Fulham fans added to the German forward’s misery as he was substituted at Craven Cottage by chanting: “Chelsea reject, Chelsea reject.”
Taking to Twitter, one Arsenal supporter wrote: “Both Jesus and Havertz so so poor. We need a proper centre forward desperately.”
Another said: “Please sign another striker Havertz is not good enough…”
A third added: “Every ball into the box Havertz is nowhere to be seen it’s so jarring.”
Havertz has five goals in 14 league appearances this season, with Arteta trusting him to be his side’s main centre forward.
Speaking in October, Arteta even claimed that the German could score 20 goals in a season – but that opinion clearly isn’t shared by the entire Gunners fanbase.
