Donald Trump met the Queen during his first term. It was in 2019, the American president made a state visit to London. The Queen welcomed him to Windsor Castle.

No special treatment for Harry

A great specialist in “small talk”, the art of light conversation, like his father King Charles, William told Donald Trump that they would be able to “warm their toes after the cathedral”. “You’re right,” Trump replied, smiling.

Enthusiastic about William, Donald Trump is less enthusiastic about his brother Prince Harry, who lives in the United States. Last March, the man who was still only a candidate for re-election assured that Harry should have to answer for his actions if he lied about his drug use to obtain an American visa.

“I would not protect him. He betrayed the queen. It is unforgivable. He would fend for himself if it depended on me,” he declared, assuring that he would not benefit from preferential treatment.
