Women in force this Friday. “Astrid and Raphaëlle” allowed France 2 to place itself well ahead of the evening’s audiences. The series worn by Lola Dewaere and Sara Mortensen even blew away the competition. 4.41 million people watched on average the day's two episodes until 11 p.m., according to Médiamétrie. The new release from the fifth season currently being broadcast even exceeded the five million mark until 10 p.m. The market share of the entire audience aged 4 and over present in front of their television set is 26.1% for the two episodes. It is only 12.5% among women responsible for purchases under 50 (FRDA-50), proof that the series was watched by a rather older audience.
The public channel beats TF1 hands down with the Christmas special of “Friday, anything goes with Arthur”. The two parts of the entertainment which received Chantal Ladesou, Florent Peyre, Jarry, Ahmed Sylla, Inès Vandamme and Manu Payet only attracted 1.63 million viewers until 11:30 p.m., or only 10.8% of the public. A disappointing score for the front page which can be consoled by seeing the audience share increase to 21% on the FRDA-50, the preferred target of advertisers. The evening is therefore not so bad for the front page in terms of advertising revenue.
M 6 is just behind with the first free-to-air broadcast of “New Toy”. The remake of Francis Veber's comedy with Pierre Richard and Michel Bouquet but, this time, with Jamel Debbouze and Daniel Auteuil in the main roles aroused the curiosity of 1.43 million people, or 8.8% of the public overall (and 12.5% on the FRDA-50).
France 3 is below the million mark with “A day with Balavoine”, which only attracted 945,000 people, or 5.6% of the public. Barely better than TFX which rebroadcast the reunion of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, aka Agents J and K, in “Men in Black III”. The blockbuster entertained 720,000 young and old (4.2%). TFX is ahead of Arte, W 9, RMC Découverte and France 5.
