continues his impressive winning streak. Facing a solid team from and under weather conditions worthy of a rough autumn, the Dacquois were able to show character to win (26-20) at the end of a crazy end to the match. Gatelier scored the winning try after the siren. A valuable success in a locked-in match, where rain was often the main adversary for both teams.

From the first minutes, the weather set the tone: pouring rain, gusts of wind and heavy terrain. These conditions immediately dictated the style of the match. Gone are the big flights and fluid passes, which the Dacquois appreciate so much, make way for an old-fashioned game, made of candles, occupation kicking and clashes on the ground. As a symbol, it was after a low start a few meters from the line that Louis Mary, Dacquois left pillar, scored the first try of the game (29'). A try which made a first difference in a match previously marked by the success of the openers, Dolhagaray and Jaminet for Biarritz, Seguy on the Landes side.

In this physical confrontation where each mistake could be costly. Dax, more pragmatic and, above all, disciplined, was able to take advantage of opposing mistakes to stay ahead in the score. Their opener, Seguy, was precise against the poles, scoring 16 points.

An (almost) intractable Dacquoise defense

If Biarritz tried to take the initiative, the Basques came up against a red and white wall. Solid in the rucks, well organized in defense and effective in mauls, the Dacquois annihilated all of their opponents' attempts. We had to wait until the last 10 minutes for the game to get carried away. A stroke of madness inspired by enterprising Biarrots. Initiatives which brought down the Dacquois, reduced to 13 after the temporary expulsions of Nacika then Puntous. But, even when outnumbered, the locals held on. Until the 79th minute and a try from Steve Barry.

But, at the end of the suspense, Gatelier gave Dax the advantage with a magnificent try scored in the corner. Seguy, imperial, transformed the try to seal the Dacquoise victory and deprive Biarritz of a defensive bonus point.
