Moroccan artist Mohamed Choubi utilized the artistic plot of the Moroccan film “In Love Toda” by director Nabil Ayouch, which was shown yesterday evening, Wednesday, on the sidelines of the activities of the 21st edition of the International Film Festival in Marrakesh.
Al-Shoubi published a blog post on his official Facebook account after watching the movie Ayoush, in which he stated that the director was unable to portray Moroccan culture in the Art of Aita as it should be, due to his lack of sufficient knowledge about the authenticity of “Aita,” according to what he said.
The artist revealed his opinion about the role of “The Sheikha”, which Nisreen Al Radi played in the movie “In Love Toda”, stressing her inability to master the role, contrary to what the audience was accustomed to in her other roles, through which she dazzled fans of the Seventh Art.
Al-Shoubi wrote in his blog post: “Nisreen Al-Radi, as an actress, convinces you with an outstanding performance, giving the role an aesthetic touch and convincing brilliance, but here she is in love with Touda, and mastery in performing rhythm eludes her….”
The actor added: “Nisreen achieved success in performing the acting scenes within the film, and as usual she dazzled in her human role, but her approach to the character of the Sheikha was not successful due to the screenwriter not being involved in plotting the pockets of the performance, which robbed Nisreen of being able to triumph over the Sheikha and pass through her rhythmically towards the recipient.”
It is noteworthy that the film “In Love Toda” was chosen to represent Morocco at the 2025 Academy Awards, in the “Best Foreign Film” category. The film won many awards, including the Grand Prize in the Feature Film Competition at the fourteenth Valenciennes Film Festival, which was held at the beginning of last October.
