Atlético’s streak continues after having a shaky match

Simeone’s men faced Cacereño in round 2 of the Copa del Rey in the Prince Philip stadium that was going to host this meeting where the Cacereño would take the lead in the first half and it would not be until almost the injury time that the Madrid team was not going to turn the match around.

Part one: The bell ringing closer than ever

The match begins at the Príncipe Felipe with 14,000 fans waiting for an exciting match.

The first 10 minutes of the match were a matter of contact. An imprecise Cacereño could not create much danger for Musso’s goal in these first minutes of the match. On the other hand, a better placed Atlético did not stop attack the rival area with more heart than opportunityalso due to a not very good condition of the playing field.

It wasn’t until the 28th minute where after a good counterattack after a pass behind the Cáceres defense he was going to leave Lino alone who was going to miss the 1 on 1 that Nieves was going to take.

After two minutes and after a perfect counterattack, the Extremaduran team was going to culminate it with a perfect pass from Martínez that the winger Merencio was going to define wonderfully with a stretch that Musso couldn’t reach to make the score 1-0.

The first half ends with another save from the Cacereño goalkeeper who snatches the goal from Riquelme with a stretch with his foot that stops the Atlético attack.

Second part: Goliath defeated David

Simeone was going to use the break to put dynamite into the team and thus try to reverse the situation. Those chosen to enter would be Lenglet, Marcos Llorente and Julián Alvarez.

El Cacereño was going to make use of cons, where It was difficult for Atlético to retreatin order to endanger the visiting team.

The Extremaduran team made changes to try to endanger the visiting team that was beginning to get going but without generating excessive danger.

The Cacereño centre-back was injured, a very important loss in the Extremaduran team since he had played an incredible game, drying up the Atlético forward with absolutely any ball.

Every time it costs more for the local team to sustain this result And it is the Madrid team that is attacking the rival goal since the Cáceres team increasingly has fewer legs to go on the counterattack, a technique that it used to gain opportunities.

Minute 82′ and Atlético finally draws the scoreboard that, after a De Paul’s precise cross is Lenglet in charge with a header to make it 1-1.

After a good start from Lino that led to a counterattack, Sancho is in charge of stopping him with a trip, earning the second yellow and leaving his team with one less.

He was also going to take the direct red for the Argentine coach that he was going to be left complaining about a goal that Julián could have scored.

Cacereño no longer has legs and will have to endure 6 more minutes of injury time with one less and with Atlético overwhelming their goal.

Rodrigo de Paul, with some luck, makes the score 1-2 after a volley from outside the area that bounced off a local team player, leaving the Cacereño goalkeeper unable to react.

1-3 by Julián Alvarez in stoppage time who, after a perfect counterattack, started by himself, puts the ball on his left leg and crosses it perfectly so that the rival goalkeeper can’t do anything.

An Atlético that does not need much to win the match

It was not the best game of Simeone’s team that he had to take out all the artillery in the final minutes of the match to reverse the situation.

And it is that, the Cacereño played a very serious game and with a very clear idea that left the Atlético player without much of a reaction.

But the lack of training, injuries and expulsions caused the local team to collapse in the final stretch of the match where they no longer had strength and Atlético did not stop attacking. Putting the final result on the scoreboard 1-3.
