The Dallas Mavericks (14-8) are in DC to play the lowly Washington Wizards (2-17) on Thursday night in an early start time. The Mavericks are riding the longest active win streak in the NBA with five in a row and DC hasn’t won a game since before Halloween. Washington hasn’t just been losing, they’ve been losing at a historic rate. Let’s get to the main things for the game:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Washington Wizard
- WHAT: Another win!
- WHERE: Capitol One Arena, Washington DC
- WHEN: 6:00 p.m. CST
- HOW: Channel 29, MavsTV and also Playback with Kirk, Matthew, and David
Dallas has mostly weathered one injury storm in the 2024-25 season. Against the Wizards, Naji Marshall is still out sick and Dante Exum is also out with his surgery recovery. The Wizards, though, are in a bleak place. Malcolm Brogdon is available, but past him, it’s a long list. Patrick Baldin is out with an ankle issue. Saddiq Bey is recovering from ACL surgery. Corey Kispert is out with an ankle sprain as well. Kyle Kuzma has a rib sprain, whatever that is. There are also a few more guys who are listed who I don’t know who they are.
With the NBA Cup on the Horizon, Dallas needs to stay healthy and tighten up and thing that may not be working. There’s plenty of good work on the home page you should go check out. Mette wrote about Kyrie. Jordan talks to us about how good PJ Washington has been this season. Matt explains Dinwiddie’s importance. Tyler tries to explain to us about the NBA Cup. And more if you go check it out! And then come back, of course.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTubewe should start around 8:45 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
