In all, more than 300 schools will be closed in Seine-Saint-Denis, one in three in and more than 60 in Hauts-de-Seine.

Parents will have to adapt. The activity of schools in all departments of Île-de- will be severely disrupted this Thursday, December 5 due to a national call for “action” and a strike in the civil service.

Almost all unions have invited teachers to go on strike in the face of upcoming budget cuts in administrations.

More than 300 schools closed in Seine-Saint-Denis, one school in three in Paris

To be more precise, in Paris, one school in three will be closed on Thursday. The strike will be strongly followed by teachers. A source close to the matter indicates that around 70% of teachers will be on strike, with sometimes 100% strikers in certain establishments.

Around Paris, Hauts-de-Seine will also be strongly affected. In the department, around sixty schools will be closed.

In Seine-Saint-Denis, more than 300 establishments will remain closed this Thursday. There will be “78% of strikers in primary and 80% in secondary”, announces the CGT Education 93.

Finally, in Val-de-, one school in three will be closed. For , nearly 150 schools will not open and nearly 100 for Val-d'Oise.

The overthrown government

In their call for a strike, the unions mentioned the reform of the Civil Service, involving budgetary restrictions, desired by Guillaume Kasbarian.

Ultimately, it should not take place, since Prime Minister Michel Barnier and his government were overthrown by the National Assembly this Wednesday, December 4.
