With the defeat suffered by Corinthiansthis Tuesday (3), Bahia will need to “dry” the Cruise to depend only on themselves to qualify for next year's Libertadores via Brasileirão.
The Fox faces the Palm trees this Wednesday (4), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte, for the 37th round of the competition.
At this moment, the Steel Squadron is within the “G8″: it is in eighth place, with 50 points. However, the celestial club has 49 points, occupies ninth place and can surpass Tricolor if they beat Verdão.
If this does not happen, the team coached by Rogério Ceni will only depend on a victory against Atlético-GO, in the last round, to secure a place in the continental tournament.
In a scenario in which Cruzeiro beats Palmeiras, just a victory over Dragão will not be enough for Bahia.
-The Bahian club will have to hope that Raposa stumbles against Juventude in the final round, or that Corinthians is defeated by Grêmio.
Bad return campaign
After equaling their best first round in the history of running points, Bahia made a very poor return. In 18 matches, the Tricolor team won only 19 points, with a 35.2% success rate.
Inside the Arena Fonte Nova, the triumph has not come since September 29th. On that occasion, Esquadrão beat Criciúma 1-0. Since then, the team has accumulated three defeats and a draw at home.
