Leicester defender Conor Coady, speaking to Premier League Productions: “Relief. Really good. We have only had two players with the manager so it was tough. To listen to his ideas, to listen to what he wants to do. He has gave us a lot in meetings. Tonight was about grit and graft, and showing that we belief in what we want to do with the manager. A huge win for us. A little nervy at times but we got there in the end.”
On what Ruud van Nistelrooy has said to the team: “That word [aggression] is huge in what he has brought in the last couple of days. Aggression, getting up to the ball, getting contact. It’s as simple as that. The lads had a good go today, we played well in parts. Could we have played better? Of course we can. That today was huge for us, it’s massive for us going forward. Important that we won the game.”
On facing 30 shots from West Ham: “I don’t like the sound of that. I’m a bit gutted you told me that! That needs to change because we can’t give that many shots away. The most important thing is winning and winning it how we did.”
On the win giving them belief: “It’s huge. When you win games it breeds confidence. It was quite nervy at times in the first half and you could feel that. The nervousness gets to the crowd and they can feel it, of course they do, we’re all human beings. We have to put that to bed. It’s a breath of fresh air, the manager has been fantastic.”
