Around thirty retirees gathered in front of the prefecture des Yvelines, in Versailles, this Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in the morning, at the call of fourteen organizations, including five from the department. They came to express their anger, particularly in reaction to the government's desire not to revalue pensions au 1is January 2025.
This gathering had been recorded even before the announcement of the use of article 49.3 for the adoption of the Social Security financing law (PLFSS). “It doesn’t change anything about our demands, underlines Maria Bolzinger, retired and member of the Unitary Trade Union Federation (FSU). Especially since a period of uncertainty will certainly begin after the vote on this motion. »
For the indexation of pensions to inflation
Among the demands of the Yvelin protesters: the absence of indexation of pensions to inflation on 1is January 2025, “what is contrary to the Social Security Code,” criticizes Maria Bolzinger. The sling also demands for the same reason a pension catch-up not revalued since 2017.
Another source of discontent: the reduction in the share of refund of Social Security on medical consultations and certain medications “This affects complementary health insurance which increases their prices,” regrets Maria Bolzinger.
“700,000 retirees do not have complementary health insurance. We are up against the unraveling of Social Security. »
The third reason for anger concerns the reductions in allocations to public services, and in particular for hospitals: “€600 million will be withdrawn from hospitals while they are already in agony,” protests the retiree. Same thing for city medicine: “In Yvelines, medical deserts are a reality. »
“Enforce the law”
Activists say they are attached to a system of “ intergenerational solidarity » and claim an acquired right to retirement: “We are not asking for alms. »
“Retirement is not an allowance, it is a right. We ask them one thing, and that is to apply the law. »
A revaluation of 0.8% announced
After the intervention of representatives of the various organizations of retirees from Yvelines, the procession brought a letter to the prefect containing their demands, before participating in the national gathering planned for the afternoon in Paris, where a meeting with the cabinet ofPrime Minister had been planned for several weeks.
A delegation from the nine organizations was thus received by advisors to Michel Barnier. A 0.8% increase in pensions was announced on 1is January 2025, “below 50% of theinflationannounced by Laurent Wauquiez and not respecting the Social Security Code,” comments Maria Bolzinger.
