ROMA
Svilar 6 – Retegui warms up his gloves after half an hour but as usual doesn’t let himself be surprised. Unlucky on Atalanta’s goal.
Mancini 5.5 – Lookman is among the most uncomfortable customers in Serie A and keeps him at bay in the first half. In the second half he almost equalised, then made a mistake on Zaniolo for 0-2.
Hummels 6.5 – He never played with Juric, while with Sir Claudio it’s another story. Second as starter to keep the very strong attack of the Goddess at bay. In the first half he saved a goal with a providential advance on Retegui. The defense professor is back. Then he goes off due to a physical problem (from the 73rd minute El Shaarawy:
Come on 6.5 – He is always among the most attentive in defense and in the first minutes he is decisive with a closure in the area. He also makes little mistakes in the second half
Literate 5.5 – He pushes little in attack and is unlucky in deflecting De Roon’s shot. A season that fails to take off. (from 71′ Saelemaekers 6: fails to be decisive like in London)
Kone 6.5– He is Roma’s driving force and even comes close to scoring in the first half. He fights all over the pitch and is always among the happy notes of a disastrous start to the season.
Cristante 6 – After the bench in London he returns to the starting line-up in the middle of the pitch. He makes little mistakes. He hopes it can be a rebirth for him too (from the 82nd minute Zalewski SV)
Paredes 6.5 – He’s back in form and immediately stands out with a great right from distance. In the first half he is among the best for successful passes. Finally the protagonist returns
Angelino 6 – On the left he often has difficulty with Bellanova. In the first half he also suffered a tackle from Kossounou. Maybe he needs some rest.
Dybala 6 – The class, as usual, is not discussed and delights the public with beautiful plays. He starts alongside Dovbyk but runs all over the pitch to create important plays. He takes a lot of kicks, but personal joy doesn’t arrive (from 82′ Soulé SV)
Dovbyk 5 – More in the heart of the game from the first minutes than in London. He plays with the defenders and claims a penalty for a questionable contact in the area with Kolasinac. Ready and go in the second half he misses a sensational goal in front of Carnesecchi. Something more is needed (from 62′ Shomurodov 6: returns after injury. He tries but doesn’t have enough impact)
Trainer: Ranieri 6 – The Olimpico celebrates his return and thanks him. The team is well placed on the pitch with 3-5-2, but pays a high price for Dovbyk’s lack of precision.
ATALANTA
Meatballs 6 – Responds present from the first minutes with a good save on Paredes. Then he saves himself on Dovbyk who misses one-on-one.
Kossounou 6.5 – Without flaws behind and also good when it comes to attacking. From one of his runs a chance arises for Retegui (from 83′ Djimsiti SV)
He 7 – He plays with Dovbyk throughout the game and often gets the upper hand. Even in the second half he is a real wall.
Kolasinac 6- Set up and lead the defense. Precise in his interventions and makes little mistakes
Bellanova 6.5 – Starts slowly but grows as the minutes pass. He is the real thorn in the side of the Giallorossi defense.
De Roon 7 – He plays a good game and is also lucky in the goal that gives Dea the lead
Ederson 6.5 – He misses the ball which could have ended the match even earlier, but otherwise he is among the best on the pitch as always. Running and a lot of intensity in the middle of the field.
Ruggeri 6 – It’s the usual scooter. He makes a mistake by keeping Dovbyk in the game, then the Ukrainian devours the goal (from the 54th minute Cuadrado 6.5: he enters and is decisive with the assist for Zaniolo)
De Ketelaere 6 – It’s difficult to do better than the magical Champions League evening. Roma’s defense leaves him little space (from 64′ Zaniolo 7: he comes in between the whistles and finds the 0-2. Then the controversial celebration and the Olimpico chants against him)
Lookman 6 – It’s not as devastating as usual, but it always represents a problem for the Giallorossi defense. (from 64′ Brescianini 6: great desire to do well)
Retegui 5.5 – He fights like a lion but Hummels marks him well in the first half, saving a goal already scored. It’s not decisive as usual (from the 54th minute Samardzic 6: comes on in place of an absent Retegui)
Trainer: Gasperini 6 – Atalanta less brilliant than usual but concrete. In the stands it’s a fury in the first half, in the second half the Nerazzurri concede little. Eighth victory in a row in the championship
