Gaziantep FK Coach Selçuk İnan made a statement after the 3-1 defeat against Fenerbahçe in the 14th week of the Trendyol Super League.
Referring to Mourinho’s words about himself, Selçuk İnan said, “Thanks to Jose Mourinho. It is nice that he said these things about me. He is someone I respect. His words are an honor. My team is the part I am interested in. We fought well, we are on the way to becoming an even better team. Mourinho ‘or thank you.’ he said.
“THEY CURSING IN ONE MOUTH…”
Selçuk İnan, who used reproachful expressions about the Fenerbahçe fans swearing at him, said, “Fenerbahçe fans made me very sad. The way they cursed in unison… I never disrespected Fenerbahçe. I played for Galatasaray for 10 years, won trophies, was the captain. We cannot hide this, but “We fight for the team we work for.” he said.

“WE COULD HAVE EARNED 1 POINT HERE”
Stating that they were superior to Fenerbahçe in the first half, İnan said, “I’m sorry because my players fought very well. We could have won at least 1 point for this fight. We achieved a draw in the first half, but we retreated in the second half with the involvement of important players in the game and the psychology of keeping the score. “We could have created dangers from transitions, we found positions, but we could not evaluate them. We lost this match tragically for me because Fenerbahçe’s pressure resulted in a goal from consecutive corners.” he said.
“I NEVER DISRESPECTED FENERBAHÇE”
Stating that he was offended by Fenerbahçe fans’ reaction to him, İnan said, “I have never disrespected any fan or player, neither during my football career nor now. We are doing a job, sometimes my child is with me. It seems normal in our country for fans to swear in unison. I have never disrespected Fenerbahçe fans.” I didn’t.” He expressed his reaction by saying.
İnan added that the referees used their discretion in favor of Fenerbahçe in the match.
“APPRECIATION RIGHTS WERE ON FENERBAHÇE’S SIDE”

Evaluating the referee’s performance, Selçuk İnan said, “There are a few subtle positions. He immediately stopped the match. Breaking positions were always in favor of Fenerbahçe. Even giving the penalty showed the referee’s intention. The discretion was on Fenerbahçe’s side. It’s a bit sad. Referees are under a lot of pressure. “They think they will come out of this pressure by protecting the big team,” he said.
“WE CAUGHT IT BUT WE COULD NOT EVALUATE IT”
Stating that they could not make use of the positions they had, İnan said, “Fenerbahçe played a UEFA match during the week. They were a little tired. Their coaches must have thought about this because they replaced their effective players in the second half. So we kind of accepted the game. So that we can score the goal with quick passes. “We caught it, but we did not evaluate it,” he said.

Stating that they are in the position he expected in the league, Selçuk İnan concluded his words as follows: “It is not easy to get things back on track quickly in Antep. It was an earthquake city and went through a difficult period. They also experience great difficulties. Many of our players left. Another thing is that the players love and adapt to the city. Reflecting it on the field and getting results is not an easy task. We have shortened this process considerably. Frankly, we are in the position I expected. “We will continue to develop and work.”
